Introduction
Crater Lake National Park is a national park in southern Oregon, established in 1902, centered on Crater Lake, a volcanic caldera lake formed when Mount Mazama collapsed roughly 7,700 years ago. At 1,949 feet deep, it is the deepest lake in the United States, known for its intensely clear, deep-blue water fed only by rain and snow, along with rim viewpoints, hiking trails, and Wizard Island.
