Introduction
Los Alerces National Park is located in the Andes of Chubut Province, Argentine Patagonia, near Esquel and along the Chilean border, encompassing the Futaleufú River basin with its lakes and rivers. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting Valdivian temperate rainforest and Argentina's largest alerce (Patagonian cypress) forest, home to some of the oldest living trees in the world, alongside native wildlife such as pudus, kodkods, South Andean deer and torrent ducks.
