Introduction
Acadia National Park is a U.S. national park along the mid-coast of Maine, encompassing more than 48,000 acres across Mount Desert Island, Schoodic Peninsula, Isle au Haut, and smaller coastal islands. It offers 27 miles of historic motor roads, 158 miles of hiking trails, and 45 miles of carriage roads, drawing over 3.3 million visitors annually as one of the most visited national parks in the country.
