Introduction
Dead Cow Gully Backyard Ultra is a 'last one standing' backyard ultramarathon held on a rural property at 675 Walsh Road, Runnymede, Queensland, Australia. Runners repeat a 6.7km loop every hour, passing through stockyards, grasslands, gullies and gumtrees alongside grazing cattle, until only one competitor remains. In June 2025 the event gained international attention when endurance athlete Phil Gore set a world record here, running 797km over 119 yards.
