Introduction
Bab al-Ansar is a historic gate marking the north-eastern/eastern edge of Chefchaouen's medina, near the Ras el-Maa river and the Bab el-Ansar neighborhood. Dating to the 15th-16th century, the gate is a starting point for the scenic walk up to the Spanish Mosque overlooking the town.
