Introduction
Santa Justa Lift is a neo-Gothic iron elevator in Lisbon's historic Baixa district, built in 1901-1902 and designed by a protégé of Gustave Eiffel to connect the lower Baixa streets with the higher Largo do Carmo. Standing 45 metres tall, it offers a rooftop viewing platform with panoramic views over the castle and river, making it a popular tourist attraction and one of the city's most distinctive landmarks.
