Introduction
Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple in Asakusa, Taitō-ku, Tokyo, and is regarded as Tokyo's oldest temple, established in 628. Dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon, it is reached via the famous Nakamise shopping street and features a five-story pagoda, drawing roughly 30 million visitors a year as one of Tokyo's most iconic sights.
