Introduction
The Philosopher's Path (Tetsugaku-no-michi) is a scenic pedestrian path in the northern Higashiyama district of Kyoto, running alongside the cherry-tree-lined Lake Biwa Canal between Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion) and Nanzen-ji temples. Named after Kyoto University philosophy professor Kitaro Nishida, who used it for his daily walks, it stretches about 2 kilometers and takes roughly 30 minutes to an hour to walk, passing small temples and shops along the way.
