Introduction
Dapeng Fortress, also known as Dapeng Ancient City, is a Ming Dynasty walled village in Dapeng New District, Shenzhen, first built in 1394 for coastal defense against pirates. Sprawling over 110,000 square meters, it is considered the most complete Ming Dynasty military fortress in the area and today features a revitalized mix of historic architecture, artsy cafes and boutiques.
