Introduction
The Nærøyfjord is a narrow fjord branching off the Aurlandsfjord (itself part of the Sognefjord) in Aurland Municipality, Vestland county, Norway, about 17 km long. Steep, precipitous mountains rise above the fjord with numerous rivers and waterfalls cascading down its sides, and it forms part of the UNESCO-listed West Norwegian Fjords landscape protection area.
