Introduction
The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh, Morocco, located in the southwest medina quarter near Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Built in the 12th century by the Almohad dynasty and constructed in red stone, it is renowned for its 77-meter minaret, making it the tallest structure in the city and its most iconic landmark. Non-Muslims cannot enter the mosque itself, but visitors can admire its surrounding gardens and large square.
