Introduction
Paarl is the largest town in South Africa's Cape Winelands, located in the Western Cape province on the Berg River near Paarl Mountain and the Drakenstein Range. Founded in 1687, it is the third oldest European settlement in the country and is known as the spiritual home of the Afrikaans language, with a rich cultural heritage and scenic mountain and vineyard landscapes.
