Pingjiang Road is a historic pedestrian street and district in the Gusu area of Suzhou's old town, running about 1.6 km alongside a canal in a layout dating back to the Song and Yuan dynasties. It is considered the largest and best-preserved historic block in Suzhou, lined with old houses, water lanes, small bridges, shops, teahouses, and restaurants, making it a popular spot for strolling, sightseeing, and experiencing traditional Suzhou canal-town atmosphere, especially at night.
