Introduction
This is a well-known hiking trail on Réunion Island that leads from the Col des Bœufs down into the Cirque de Mafate, ending at the remote hamlet of La Nouvelle. It is considered the classic and easiest entry point into Mafate, covering roughly 11-13 km with about 700-800 m of elevation gain/loss and taking around 5-6 hours to complete.
