Introduction
Nijo Market is a historic fish market in Sapporo's Chuo Ward, just a few blocks south of Odori Park and Sapporo TV Tower, dating back to the Meiji era when Ishikari Bay fishermen sold their catch here. Today it houses around 15-30 shops and seafood restaurants selling fresh Hokkaido seafood such as crab, hokke, and scallops, along with produce and dry goods, making it a popular spot for tasting fresh seafood, often from early morning.
