Introduction
Borough Market is a historic wholesale and retail food market in Southwark, near London Bridge, widely regarded as one of London's oldest and largest food markets. It features over 100 stalls including delicatessens, butchers, fishmongers and cheesemongers, alongside restaurants and street food vendors, drawing both locals and tourists. Trading in various forms since at least the medieval period (with records dating to 1756), it remains a hub for artisan and fresh produce.
