Introduction
The Museu d'Història de Catalunya, opened in February 1996, is located in the Palau de Mar on Port Vell, the sole surviving building of Barcelona's old industrial port, near the Barceloneta and Barri Gòtic districts. It traces the history and identity of Catalonia from prehistoric times through the Roman period to the modern day using artifacts, documents, interactive displays, and room-scale reconstructions.
