Introduction
The Columbus Monument (Mirador de Colom) is a 60-meter tall monument to Christopher Columbus located at the lower end of La Rambla in Barcelona, near Port Vell. Built for the 1888 Universal Exposition, it features a 40-meter Corinthian column topped by a bronze statue of Columbus, along with bronze reliefs depicting his expeditions. Visitors can take a lift to a viewing platform near the top for panoramic views of the city and port.
