Introduction
Jing'an Temple is an esoteric Tangmi Buddhist temple on West Nanjing Road in the heart of Shanghai's Jing'an District, first built in 247 AD, making it one of the city's oldest surviving temples. Known for its golden roofs and traditional architecture set amid modern skyscrapers, it houses the largest pure jade statue of Buddha Sakyamuni in mainland China.
