Introduction
Plaza de la Merced is one of the largest and most historic public squares in Málaga's Centro district, lined with cafés, bars and restaurants. It is famous as the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, whose childhood home now houses a small museum on the square, and it features a central obelisk dedicated to General Torrijos.
