Introduction
Fairmount Bagel is Canada's first bagel bakery, founded in 1919 by Isadore Shlafman, with its current location at 74 Fairmount Avenue West in Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal opened in 1949. It's known for hand-rolled, wood-fired oven bagels made in the traditional Montreal style, and is often compared to rival St-Viateur Bagel just down the street.
