Introduction
The Route des Laves is a scenic stretch of the RN2 road on Réunion Island, running about 32 km through the Grand Brûlé region between Saint-Philippe and Sainte-Rose. It crosses dramatic landscapes of ancient and recent lava flows from the Piton de la Fournaise volcano, including the 2007 flow, with black basaltic terrain, low vegetation, and coastal viewpoints such as Plage du Tremblet and the Tresta Star shipwreck.
