Introduction
The Torre del Oro is a 12-sided, 36-meter-high military watchtower built by the Almohad Caliphate in the 13th century on the left bank of the Guadalquivir River in Seville, once part of the city's Moorish walls and used to control river access. Its name comes from the golden tiles that originally covered it, and today it houses a small Naval Museum.
