Introduction
Miyagawa Morning Market is one of Japan's largest and most famous morning markets, held daily along the east bank of the Miyagawa River between Kajibashi and Yayoibashi Bridges in Takayama's old town. Dating back to origins as a mulberry tree market in the early 1800s, it features around 60 stalls selling fresh local produce, fruit, crafts, and Takayama specialties. It runs year-round from about 7am (8am in winter) until noon, roughly a 10-minute walk from Takayama Station.
