Introduction
Nara Park is a large 660-hectare public park established in 1880 at the foot of Mount Wakakusa in Nara, Japan, considered one of the oldest parks in the country. It is famous for around 1,300 free-roaming sika deer, designated as natural monuments, as well as historic temples and shrines such as Todaiji Temple set within its wooded grounds.
