Introduction
Koyasan Shukubo refers to the roughly 51 temple lodgings on Mount Koya (Koyasan) in Wakayama, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where guests can stay overnight within active Shingon Buddhist temples. Guests sleep on traditional futon bedding, take part in temple life such as bathing and meals, and experience Shingon Buddhist monastic culture in a sacred mountain setting.
